When we talk about the cleaning the stones, we refer to removing the negative energies that may be impregnated with them, since we do not know what vibrations they could absorb before reaching our hands.
Just by looking at them and taking them for a while in a store, anyone can already be depositing negative energies. If they have been in nature, they may also have suffered climatic changes, or have been in contact with animals. Every event changes them and charges them energetically, and many of these energies could harm us.
Whenever we come into contact with a stone for the first time, we must clean it so that it is free of external influences and ready to receive our energy. Once we start using them, it is also recommended to clean them regularly since all the stones change our negative energy for positive, and it is important to free them from all negativity produced by our body and the environment. The periodicity of the cleaning will depend on the load that we place on it, if we are going through difficult times or not, diseases, or if we feel that they are no longer being effective.
How are the stones cleaned?
There are many ways to do it: with water, incense, earth or other stones. The first step for cleaning all minerals should be to expose them for a few minutes to fresh running water, if we have accessibility to river water much better, otherwise tap water is enough.
Many of the stones are suitable for cleaning submerged in water for hours or days. Others should not be wet for a long time because they can be ruined. In the latter case, it is recommended to expose them to tap water, or clean them with incense or palo santo.
Once clean, the stones must be charged with energy from nature to enhance their effectiveness. To do this, they must be placed on the ground, if land is not available it can be a pot, in the sun or at the full moon. Like water, the sun can affect some types of gems. That is why it is always appropriate to find out what type of charge our ore needs.
Here are some of the possible cleaning methods:
Cleaning with water:
Leave the stones submerged in water for hours or days, changing the water every time bubbles form and removing them when this no longer occurs. If there is a possibility, they can be cleaned with a natural water source such as a river, lake or sea. Then they should always be rinsed under running water to remove excess salt or other particles.

Cleaning with soil:
Bury the stones in the ground for hours or days in a place where there is no regular passage of many people. If land is not available, it can be done in a pot. After removing them, gently remove the soil impregnated with a dry or damp cloth, depending on the need. Sage or lavender can be added to the earth as they are purifying herbs.
Cleaning with incense:
Expose the stones for a few minutes to the smoke of a palo santo . It can also be done with sandalwood, myrrh, sage or lavender. It is best to burn the herbs in charcoal. You can use our cleaning bundles of the herbs that you like the most!
Cleaning with other stones:
Place the stones inside geodes or together with purifying crystals, such as amethyst or clear quartz, in a natural container for a few days. This method in addition to cleaning the stone will energize it.
How to load the stones?
The stones are charged in the light of the full moon or the sun. This depends on each gem and the energy that most connects with the person carrying the stone. Some charge them with both energies to achieve a balance. It is something that is totally left to the intuition of each person.
If the option is to charge it in the sun, the stone is placed (better on the ground) for one or two hours in the morning when the rays are not so strong. If you choose to charge with the full moon, leave the crystals overnight (better on land) exposed to moonlight and remove before sunrise.
In both cases the sky may be cloudy, the energy is the same and the stones will be charged in the same way.
